New Word
In my reading this morning, I ran across a word that I didn't know. So I looked it up:
pusillanimous |ˌpyoōsəˈlanəməs| adjective showing a lack of courage or determination; timid. DERIVATIVES pusillanimity |-ləˈnimətē| noun pusillanimously adverb ORIGIN late Middle English : from ecclesiastical Latin pusillanimis (translating Greek olugopsukhos), from pusillus ‘very small’ + animus ‘mind,’ + -ous .What makes it a little funny is that this is the third time I've read the book (The Proper Distinction Between Law & Gospel, by C.F.W. Walther) but this is the first time I noticed and bothered to look up the word.
Don't expect me to begin using it in ordinary conversations or in any sermons.
