That's God's Promise

Yesterday after the rain subsided and the skies cleared up a little, large rainbow appeared in the sky. It was a big one where you can see both ends of it (but I couldn’t get both ends into a picture). And it was a double rainbow, which you can see in the picture.

So when we saw the rainbow, we made sure the kids got to see it. As soon as Andrew saw it, he said to Hannah, “That’s God’s promise!” They have been studying the flood in preschool, so they know that the rainbow was the sign of God’s promise never to destroy the earth again by a flood.

Wouldn’t it be great if we would be as excited to see the things that remind us of God’s promises? Couldn’t we also associate those signs and symbols of God’s promises with the promises themselves? If God gave me these things to constantly remind me of his Word and promise to me, couldn’t I just as simply say, “That’s God’s promise!”
