Sound Issues

In the past several months we have been having problems with our sound system off and on. Occasionally we would have a loud noise, like some kind of interference. We've also had instances where the sound would simply cut out. But because the problem was so intermittent we haven't been sure what the exact cause is. We're pretty sure it is related to the wireless microphones we wear. But is it the batteries, the placement of the receivers, or external interference?

I think what we'll end up trying a new wireless system. Besides (hopefully) solving the issues we've been having, there are some advantages to new microphones. One is that the transmitters could have a more reliable battery indicator. The ones I'm looking at now have a light that indicates when the battery is getting low. Another advantage is a smaller, less noticeable microphone. Ideally, we would buy a white microphone with white cord. They sell them, but they're considerably more expensive (3x more).

The goal with microphones (and sound systems in general) is that they be as inconspicuous as possible. They should not be noticed, by the ear or the eye. Rather, they should simply allow the message to be heard clearly without distraction. "Faith comes by hearing the message..."
